Skin Care Routine!

A few years ago, I discovered I had adult acne. Throughout my teenage years, I did not suffer from pimples and blemishes. After countless hours of research, I discovered an affordable and natural based regimen that works for my skin. Every weekend, I go to Eastern Market, which is an indoor/ outdoor historical farmer’s market in DC. Local vendors come to sell their goods and produce. Pure Shea Store is an African American owned skincare business that is based in Baltimore, MD. They make shea based soaps, shampoo bars, conditioners and sugar scrubs. Their Black Tar Shea soap was recommended to help with my skin issues. I keep the bar in the shower and use twice a day with warm water. It rinses easily and does not dry my skin out.
I love LUSH products. Each product is vegetarian and is not tested on animals. I have tried many of their products that range from skincare to haircare. The products are a God-send, but can be pricey. I never thought that using toner is needed. However, the Tea Tree Water toner brings extra moisture to my oily skin. After I rinse my face, I spray the toner into a cotton round, and wipe my face and neck.
Finally, I needed a good moisturizer. In the past, my go to was Lush’s Enzymion, but it became too pricey and I needed to use a lot of product to feel moisturized. I discovered Vitamin E oil, which contains antioxidants that will make your skin glow. I know you’re thinking that adding extra oil to oily skin is a breakout session waiting to happen, but it works wonders. The best place to find Vitamin E oil is at Trader Joe’s. They sell a 4 oz. bottle for $3.99!
