Pearl's Oyster Bar!

If you are a true foodie, you know that Philadelphia has some of the best hidden food gems on the East Coast. A few weeks ago before traveling to New York for my bestie’s birthday, we had brunch in Philly at Reading Terminal before we boarded our bus. She took me to Pearl’s Oyster Bar which is in one of the many corners of the terminal.
The menu was so interesting and I knew this would be a great brunch. They have specials such as “The Breakfast Jawn” and Chorizo Nachos. If you aren’t from the PA area or unfamiliar with our lingo, a jawn can be a way to describe any noun; food, an item or even a woman. I was intrigued to find out the jawn was a skillet breakfast with biscuits, potatoes, every breakfast meat, egg, sausage gravy and cheese. It looked so good but I knew it was too much food for a long bus ride. I settled on their crab grilled cheese and tomato bisque. Our food came out steaming hot and fresh. The soup came with soft croutons and was delicious. The sandwich was full of crab and cheese. Everything was so good.
I love visiting Reading Terminal because there are always new foods to try around every corner. Next time you are in the city, check them out. Also always go to the small places that have the longest lines; people aren’t standing in line because the food isn’t good!
Happy Eating!
