The Malt House!

Last weekend, a few friends and I spent the weekend in New York. Each time I visit the area, my goal is to try new restaurants there. After a fun filled day of shopping and visiting the Brooklyn Bridge, we stumbled upon a Gastropub in the Village called the Malt House.

The atmosphere was super chill and featured bench seating and rustic design. We sat at a table in the window so we could people watch as we enjoyed our last dinner. Naima ordered the Mac and Three Cheese with Buttermilk Chicken Bites on top and Brandi chose the Southern Style Buttermilk Fried Chicken Melt. I knew I wanted to go with something that was a little out of my comfort zone with flavor, so I went with the Coconut Curry Wings with hand-cut Rosemary Fries. Everything came out looking delicious and I couldn’t wait to try the wings. They came piled high with a cooling dipping sauce to balance the curry. I consider myself to be a French Fry connoisseur and these fries were amazing. They were the right cut, well-seasoned and extra crispy. I intentionally did not finish my meal because I knew I wanted to order dessert. I normally don’t order dessert, but their Bourbon S’mores sounded so good, that I couldn’t resist. The brownie was topped with a good smear of peanut butter and toasted marshmallows. There also was a berry sauce under the s’more. We all enjoyed the brownie because it was so rich and delicious.
The Malt House did not disappoint for our last night in the Big Apple. I can’t wait to go back to discover more eateries!
