Hippo Thrift!

Thrift stores will always be my go-to for cool and eclectic items. I have learned over the years that I don't give myself expectations while thrifting. That way, when I find something cool, I'm thrilled about it. If it's funky and dope, I am sure to find it.
A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a funky thrift store in Newport, Delaware called Hippo Thrift. It is located in the heart of Newport and houses dope items and incredible prices. My mom and I visited Hippo Thrift on one of shopping excursions. The store houses a mix of goods, including, clothing, shoes, housewares, kitchen tools, and furniture. I found a cool Tasty Kake shelf display that looked to be used in stores years ago. I am originally from Pennsylvania and we are serious about Tasty Kake products. When I moved to DC 15 years ago, I didn't know that I would miss regular food items like chocolate juniors, Swiss Farms lemonade and Turkey Hill ice cream. The display shelf would be a great feature item for my future soup kitchen. I also found a huge saute stainless steel pan to add to my collection. I envision creating great dishes like gumbo or paella soon. The employees were extremely helpful and even broke down the shelf so I would be able to get it home.
Delaware has great hidden treasures buried deep within. Check out Hippo Thrift and let me know what you think!
