Live Auction at Fia's!

This weekend was super dope! My mommy came down to hang for the weekend and we had a great time doing small business shopping through the city. We traveled to BZB Bazaar on 9th St. NW, which houses tons of Afrocentric small businesses that come from all over the country to sell their goods. We also went to our favorite consignment shop Fia's Fabulous Finds in Petworth for her holiday events. Fia has been a great friend to me for almost 7 years and I couldn't imagine life without her.

Last night she hosted her first live auction in her store. She partnered up with Julie, who is an amazing second hand buyer, to auction off many pristine items including a Speedy Louis Vuitton purse, mink coat and tons of vintage jewelry. About 10 women came to the store to enjoy light refreshments and cocktails before the auction began. We were assigned individual numbers to participate. The event started with collections of vintage purses from Marc Jacobs and Coach. There were lots of vintage earrings and carpet bags for sale. My interest peeked for a silk Asian smoking jacket, lot of vintage earrings and a few vintage purses. Some of the other items available was a Mercedes Benz purse, Chanel perfume, vintage hats and a Gucci tote. The big ticket item of the night was a full length Mink coat. It was gorgeous and seemed to fit each woman well who tried it on. The bidding went high and got very aggressive, but ultimately went to Stani who looked beautiful in her coat. She also won a fur hat that matched perfectly. It was an all around great time spent with fashionable dope women. The next auction is scheduled for the Spring and you don't want to miss the next one.
