Smoke's Poutinerie!

It’s been a while since I have a reviewed a new eatery on Eatnstyle! I am so excited to tell you about this place. Over the weekend, I hung out with my boo Sharia in Philly. We were so cold and looking for a fun place to hang and grab drinks for the evening. While scrolling down South Street, I saw Smoke’s and knew I wanted to try it.
Poutine is a Canadian specialty consisting of hand cut French fries, cheese curds and topped with brown gravy. If it sounds a little different to you, it is, but if you love French fries like me, it will hit the spot. French fries are one of my favorite foods (the other is ice cream), so I couldn’t wait to try it out. The eatery is super cool and has interesting artifacts about poutine and Canada as the décor. What made Smoke’s cool is that they offer variations of poutine to try including poutine with chicken, beef and pork. We ordered a traditional poutine and sodas to wash it down. Sharia was a little hesitant, but as her resident foodie, she was willing to try it out and she loved it. When it arrived, the fries were covered in gravy and cheese. The taste of poutine was warm and comforting. I’m sure I could have eaten it all myself, but it was big enough for two people to share. I can’t wait to return and try other contemporary version like the Korean BBQ or Jerk Chicken.
Next time you are on South St, check out Smoke’s Poutinerie!
