Philly Aids Thrift Store!
As I hope you already know, I an avid thrifter and about 90% of my wardrobe is thrifted or cosigned. I'm so thrilled when people tell me about new thrift stores. One of my mom's good friends told us about Philly Aids Thrift located at 5th and South St. We decided to visit last weekend and see all they had to offer. I wasn't prepared for all the goodies that we found. It is a huge building that houses everything from kitchen tools to a vintage room!
It is nestled right next to historic South St and is a volunteer run organization. It helps to educate people about HIV/AIDS organizations. It recently opened a new drop in HIV testing center on the second floor of the store. The services are offered in a private and confidential space. Rapid testing is offered every weekend on a regular schedule.
My mom and I found all sorts of goods including a mink fur collar that I can't wait to attach to a funky denim jacket, a brand new pair of wedges, patent leather clogs, Christmas shoe ornaments and assorted kitchen tools. I love that the space is organized by the type of goods there. As a plus size woman, I was happy to see several racks of plus size goods.
Philly Aids Thrift is definitely a new favorite thrift store. I can't wait to go back to see what new treasures I can discover!
