Bakers and Baristas!

One great advantage of working in downtown DC is that there are dope eateries on my way to work. I am always on Yelp looking for new eateries that offer cash back through the app. You link your debit card that you would use regularly for your purchase on Yelp and the cash back will be applied back to your card at the end of the month.

When you walk up 7thSt in front of the Capitol One Arena, you will smell a sweet scent in the air. It is coming from the corner where Bakers and Baristas as well as Red Velvet Cupcakery is situated. I walked into Bakers and Baristas and was warmly greeted. I am not a big coffee drinker, but the assortment of baked goods in the display window caught my attention.

I asked suggestions from the barista behind the counter and she told me to try the cinnamon rolls. She told me I wouldn’t be disappointed and she wasn’t lying. When I got to work, I warmed it up slightly and dug in. The thing that sets this particular roll apart is that the dough is a croissant, so it's flaky and light. It was so good that it was gone in three bites and I was sad. Needless to say, I swore I went back for cinnamon rolls three days straight! During the afternoon hours, a few more pastry items are added. I tried the butterkuchen which is amazing. It's a Germna pastry with pastry cream, almonds and sugar throughout the thin layers of brioche. It truly is delicious! On top of all that sugary goodness, I get a few pennies back into my piggy bank!

Check out Bakers and Baristas and let me know what you think!
