Sweatshirts To Work!

Last Fall, I became obsessed with sweatshirts. They are back with a vengeance and can come cropped, ripped or with clever sayings. Through various shopping ventures, I've acquired many sweatshirts and the weekend doesn't have enough days to rock my sweatshirts. One of the benefits to working in a government building is that basically isn't a dress code in place. I have seen individuals wear everything from sweatpants to suspenders.
Earlier this week, I decided to rock a sweatshirt to work. I found this dope shirt with stripes and says Cool Kids Club. I found it from an online thrifting community and have worn it with jeans, sneakers or uggs. However i wanted to push my fashion limits and rock it to work on a Monday. Subtle pattern mixing is my thing especially to work. It makes me feel that I'm still professional, but allows me to show my style.

Denim is a staple in my wardrobe. I even named my first car Denim because I love it so much. Over the years, it has become acceptable in the workplace, depending on how you rock it. A denim shirt always seems to find its way into my weekly wardrobe. This particular day, I paired a light denim Gap shirt with navy blue with white polka dot ankle pants and the sweatshirt. Accessories are always the most important elements of your outfit. A few weeks ago, I found the cutest pair of navy blue suede flats from J. Crew that I scored from Fia's Fab Finds for $4! My jewelry was a pair of stainless steel hoops and mixed pattern bracelets. I received many compliments that day and impressed with my fashion choice. Don't ever think that you have to dumb down your personal style to fit into a professional mold. The workforce is not all about three piece suits and ties; you can still be stylish and fashionable!
