My Anything But Ugly Christmas Blouse!

This past weekend, my friend Towanda invited me to an Ugly Christmas sweater party with her friends. I knew I wanted to wear something different and wanted to support small local businesses at the same time. As I was browsing Instagram, I came across Modretro Couture page. i always check out her like new vintage pieces. She has a vintage Christmas cardigan for sale that was festive. I contacted her to ask if she could hold the sweater for a local event that coming weekend. She also said she would check out the rest of her inventory for other festive attire.

That Sunday, I went to the event and was immediately drawn to Claire. It's like meeting a celebrity when you come in contact with someone you follow online. Claire was so amazing. She recognized me as well as we embraced as if we were old friends. She quickly pulled the sweater for me, but I wanted to browse more before I made a decision. All of her items are in pristine condition. I found a blouse from Chaus with presenter adorning it. It was a size 14, but i was concerned because vintage clothing can be cut small. She allowed me to try it on and to my surprise, it fit. I quickly purchased the blouse and felt a sense of accomplishment. I stayed around to chat with Claire. We even took a selfie together!

So I got my holiday blouse, now how would I style it for the party? I knew I didn't want to wear pants or leggings, but still be comfortable. I decided to go with my faux leather pleated knee skirt from Target that I thrifted from Remix Bethesda, polka dot stockings, a thrifted gold and black wide belt and gold glitter chucks. The party was a success and I can't wait to wear my blouse again!
