To Give....

One of my good "Goalfriends", Lynsai, will be celebrating her 40th birthday soon. I met her through my friend, Towanda, and she has been a blessing to me since. She is always lots of fun and comes up with great ideas and experiences for us to try.

Last Sunday, Lynsai invited us to bring gently used clothing and new tolietries for less fortunate women in the Baltimore community. I tried to collect items that women's items that they may not normally receive. I bought feminine hygiene products, womens multi vitamins, first aid kit, toothbrushes, toothpaste and tissues. We were also asked to write an encouraging note for them.

About 10 of us literally hit the street in search of women. Our first stop took us to a local park where we found a few women. There were more men and we were focused on women. A few ladies started to split up their bags and give separate items, such as soap. I found a couple and gave my entire bag away. Some of the women also had clothing and shoes to give. We continued to walk and finally found more ladies. It was such an awesome move and experience. We cried, laughed and prayed.

Collectively, we decided to not wait to venture out again to serve. We now know to pack smaller individual bags to be distributed to both men and women and a smile. Not only did we bless others, but their kindness and thankfulness blessed us as well!
